Electrical Students: Once you gain employment with an electrical company, apply for your State of Michigan Apprentice Card. ‍

1.) Download the PDF linked below.

2.) Complete Applicant Information. ‍

3.) Your employer must complete and sign the Sponsoring Employer Information section.

‍4.) Visit SEMCA student services for a school representative to complete the Approved Related Technical Instruction Provider portion of the application. If you cannot visit student services in person, you may email your form to Grace Bonventre (gbonventre@abcsemi.org), SEMCA Deputy Director. Note: SEMCA instructors are not approved signers.

5.) Follow directions within the application to submit to Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs with appropriate payment.

‍6.) Keep a copy of your application for your records until your apprentice card is received.

NOTE: State of Michigan LARA requires a yearly renewal of your apprentice card. Visit Here for more information.
